Paint on parking lot
100 x 500 feet
Skowhegan, Maine

Parking lots are in-between places where people are either passing through or in the case of this parking lot, which had been abandoned for many years, finding a private moment on the periphery. Because of my interest in leftover spaces and our rights as individuals to inhabit these places, I decided to make an action painting on the empty field. I repainted the tarred lines with a cerulean blue color matching the storefront. These lines crisscrossed the lot and were meant to repair the cracked surface which had since re-cracked, weeds poking through.
